Jo Ann McDonald has been teaching Pilates for two years. She recently completed her studio training through Integrated Balance and is an AFAA certified personal Trainer. Jo Ann has a particular appreciation for Pilates in the way it helps to lessen the long term effects of obesity, such as joint stress, poor body mechanics, and weakened core muscles. Developing from an obese child to a morbidly obese adult, Jo completely reclaimed her body by making one small change at a time in her diet and integrating exercise into her lifestyle. During that time she was introduced to Pilates. Jo Ann loved how Pilates helped correct the muscular misalignments developed from carrying so much extra weight. As she progressed, she decided she would like to teach, so in 2005, she and her husband moved to Louisville to apprentice at Core Pilates. Her goal is to help others take the first steps toward a mindful, healthy body.
